Q: What is Stateline Fury?

A: Stateline Fury is a competitive travel softball program focused on player development and preparing athletes for high school and collegiate-level play.

Q: What is the difference between Fury Red and Fury White teams?

A: Fury Red teams are our top-tier teams that compete in Class A PGF and showcase events across the Midwest. Fury White teams are competitive regional teams that play in B/C level tournaments closer to home.

Q: What age groups does Fury offer?

A: Fury offers teams from 8U through 18U, depending on player interest and tryout turnout for each season.

💰 Financial & Fundraising

Q: How much does it cost to play on a Fury team?

A: Player fees vary by age and level (Red vs. White), but cover facility access, tournaments, skill development sessions, and coaching. A full breakdown is available at tryouts or upon request.

Q: Is fundraising required?

A: The Stateline Fury program does require participation in program-wide fundraising to help keep player fees reasonable. Each Fury player purchases $300.00 worth of tickets for our annual Fall Beef Raffle, either during registration or at the start of the beef raffle. Families can choose to sell the tickets and keep the proceeds to help offset their cost, or write their name on the tickets to be entered into the drawing.

Q: Are scholarships or financial assistance available?

A: A limited number of need-based scholarships may be available. Please contact the program director for more details.

🧢 Tryouts & Team Selection

Q: How do I register for tryouts?

A: Registration is available online through the Stateline Fury website. Walk-ups are allowed but pre-registration is encouraged. Please click on the provided link below to register for a tryout.

Q: What happens during a tryout?

A: Players will be evaluated on throwing, fielding, hitting, base running, and position-specific skills. Pitchers and catchers may be asked to stay for an additional evaluation.

Q: When will I know if I made a team?

A: Coaches typically notify families within a few days of the final tryout session.

Q: Can I attend an open practice before tryouts?

A: Yes! Attending an open practice is a great way to experience the Fury environment before tryouts.

Q: How many tournaments do Fury teams play?

A: Most teams play 8–12 tournaments per season, depending on age and team level.

Q: Do Fury teams travel out of state?

A: Fury Red teams travel regularly throughout the Midwest. Fury White teams play a more local schedule with occasional travel.

Q: Are hotel stays required for travel events?

A: For out-of-town events, families typically stay overnight. Coaches and directors will share hotel block information in advance.

A: All Fury players receive player development sessions focusing on hitting, fielding, base running, and position-specific skills.

Q: What is the commitment length for a Fury season?

A: The full season typically runs from August through the following July, including fall ball, winter training, and spring/summer tournaments.
