2023 League Information & Registration

Welcome to the 2023 "Stars of Tomorrow league"

This will be the 10th year for the very popular girl's softball fastpitch league. The league is made up of teams from the Stateline Lady Shamrocks, Roy Gayle Fastpitch, BYB Fastpitch, Pecatonica, Poplar Grove Fastpitch, and area tournament teams.

 

The "Stars of Tomorrow" league will have two divisions. There will be a Gold and a Silver Division.

 

The Silver division is played at five different venues including Roscoe Swanson Park, Roy Gayle complex, BYB Fairgrounds, Pecatonica, and the Poplar Grove Lions Park. Each team will play league games plus a mid-season tournament and a league championship tournament at the end of the season. Weather permitting each team will play about 18-25 games each season.

 

The league standings are how teams are seeded into the end-of-the-year league championship tournament. The tournament is used to decide who are the league champions for each age group.

 

Ages: 8U, 10U, 12u ,& 14U

Season-  May until July (Approximately 10 weeks total)
All-Star Game at the conclusion of the season.

Swanson Park Rules

No Outside Food  or Drink

No Family Coolers

Team Cooler with drink allowed

To Smoking Or Tobacco Products

No Firearms

No Sunflower Seeds or Gum

Starting in 2021 there will be a gate fee at Swanson Park.

Adults $3.00 - Seniors 65 & Over Free

Children $1.50 - Children 6 & Under Free

Adult Season Pass $20.00

Children's Season Pass $10.00

Teams will only pay entry fees if they are using Swanson Park as their home diamond. If your team is from BYB, Roy Gayle, Pecatonica, Stateline, or Poplar Grove you will be provided a discount code to register. Thank You!

Silver Division

The Stars of Tomorrow Silver division will be for recreational (Non-Tournament) teams. Silver division teams will play using recreational special rules designed for the players to maximize playing time and enjoyment.

All 8U teams will play in the Silver division.

Gold Division

The Stars of Tomorrow Gold division will be for formed tournament teams. A team will be classified as a Gold division team if they are a tryout team that plays a minimum of 3 tournaments a season outside of the Stars of Tomorrow league tournaments. The Gold division will play using regulation NFHS rules. All games will be played at Swanson Park.

May 6th Opening Night

6:00 PM Grand Parade

6:30 PM Opening Ceremony

7:00 PM Softball Skill Challenges

The opening night skills challenge is designed for skill demonstration and a fun competition between teams. Teams will compete against teams in their own age group with the winning teams receiving certificates for a free hot dog, fountain drink, & chips that can be used that evening or during the season. It goes without saying you also win bragging rights.

The Skill Challenges will be:

Around the Horn- Each team will pick 4 team members from their team to see who can throw the ball around the infield the fastest.

4 Player Relay- Each team will pick four team members to compete in a 4 person relay around the bases.

Pitcher Speed Challenge- Each team will pick three players to pitch. Each player will get three throws with their highest speed used as their speed. The combined speeds for the three players will be the total points for the challenge.

Total Batting Distance.- Each team will choose three players to hit off a pitch from their coach. They will each get three attempts with their longest ball in the air distance used as their score. The three players' combined distances will be their team's points for the challenge.
